Governor Rendell Making Small Wind Energy Systems Available to Local Governments: 15 Small-Scale Systems to Place Alternative Energy Source in Public View

Date: 4/7/2006

Location: PA

Press Release
The Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority (PEDA) recently awarded a $193,000 grant to Southwest Windpower to place 15 small, advanced technology wind turbines in highly-visible locations across the state to get people thinking about adopting alternative energy sources in their homes and businesses. Governor Rendell says that the price of imported fuel in terms of dollars and security is too high and that Pennsylvania is making strategic investments to meet the clean energy needs of its residents and Pennsylvania's economy. Pennsylvania is positioning itself to be a leader in manufacturing advanced energy technologies; thus, creating jobs in local Pennsylvanian economies. Instead of spending its energy dollars overseas, Pennsylvania is investing at home and putting Pennsylvanians to work.
