Announcements

  • Matt Wappett has received a $26,000 grant from the Idaho Council on Developmental Disabilities to begin statewide research on the status of inclusive education for Idaho students with disabilities. There is a story about Matt's research and No Child Left Behind in the November 7th issue of The Daily News.

 

  • Julie Fodor, PhD, Director of the Center on Disabilities and Human Development at the University of Idaho has been elected to serve on the National Board of Directors for the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD).  The association supports and promotes a national network of 67 university-based interdisciplinary programs, 34 Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) programs, and 19 Developmental Disability Research Centers (DDRC). These programs serve as a bridge between universities and communities, bringing together the resources of both to achieve meaningful change in systems, policy, and application of knowledge to improve lives of people with disabilities and their families. The CDHD, housed through the College of Education, is one of the 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.  The CDHD currently houses 20 state and federal programs that impact individuals and families through education, research, and service with an operating budget of $7,340,703.  Dr. Fodor’s appointment to the AUCD board of directors brings recognition to our state and the University of Idaho.
