About the ONDCP Drug Policy Information Clearinghouse

The Drug Policy Information Clearinghouse supports the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP). A component of the National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS), the Clearinghouse is staffed by subject matter specialists and serves as a resource for statistics, research data, and referrals useful for developing and implementing drug policy.

The Clearinghouse disseminates ONDCP and the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs (OJP) drug-related publications; writes and produces documents on drug-related topics; coordinates with Federal, State, and local agencies to identify data resources; maintains a reading room offering a broad range of policy-related materials; answers telephone and e-mail requests for information; and provides online access to information through ONDCP Web sites, including www.whitehousedrugpolicy.gov, www.mediacampaign.org, www.methresources.gov, www.pushingback.com, and http://www.randomstudentdrugtesting.org/.

Clearinghouse Services

Clearinghouse subject matter specialists are available to assist researchers in a variety of capacities. Services offered to researchers include:

  • Customized database searches.
  • Dissemination of ONDCP and OJP documents.
  • Referrals to appropriate agencies, organizations, and sources of information.
  • Access to a library collection of documents on drug-related topics, including State and local data sources.
  • Data verification.

Information Quality Guidelines

The Office of National Drug Control Policy publishes these guidelines in accordance with the Guidelines for Ensuring and Maximizing the Quality, Objectivity, Utility, and Integrity of Information Disseminated by Federal Agencies (Government-wide guidelines) published in interim final form by OMB in the Federal Register in Volume 66, No. 189 at 49718 on Friday, September 28, 2001, and in final form in Volume 2, No. 67 at 8452 on February 22, 2002.
