Teams Compete in USPCA National Trials
Security
Police Officer (SPO) Calvin Jeffcoat with canine Leah, and
SPO Bret Neal and canine Dino, recently competed in the United
States Police Canine Association’s (USPCA) 2008 National
Police Dog I Trials held in Raleigh, N.C.
DOE-SR
canine handlers are members of the USPCA in Region 2, with
Region 2 sending 31 canine teams to the trials. There were
112 canine teams from 18 different states and 57 different
police agencies competing in the USPCA trials. SPO Jeffcoat
and Leah were the highest scoring canine team in Region 2.
SPO Neal and Dino were the third highest scoring canine team
for the region.
SPO Jeffcoat
and Leah obtained National Patrol Dog certification for USPCA,
and earned 1st Place in Agility with a perfect score of 60
points! In addition, they finished in 12th place overall with
a score of 667.67 out of 700 points.
SPO Neal
and Dino also obtained National Patrol Dog Certification for
USPCA, and earned 5th Place in Obedience with a score of 115.67
out of 120 points! They finished in 22nd Place overall with
a total score of 651.00 out of 700 points.
SPO Jeffcoat
and SPO Neal also finished in 4th place on a four-man team
with two other canine teams from North Carolina.
