OVERVIEW

New Jersey Department of Personnel (DOP) is undergoing an exciting change to their personnel administration system. DOP is launching the County and Municipal Personnel System (CAMPS), a new web-based system that will allow county and municipal Appointing Authorities to transmit their employee information to NJ DOP via the Internet. CAMPS will give county and municipal authorities:

• Faster and improved employee data exchange
• Direct control of employee transactions
• Instant access to generating employee reports

CAMPS is designed to allow Appointing Authorities to electronically enter and send DOP data that may be relevant to an appointment or personnel action, thereby, slashing time and labor expenditures associated with paperwork. Less paper moving from division to division will decrease the possibility of lost transactions. Overall, CAMPS will improve response time for submission and approval of all personnel transactions and will give appointing authorities the ability to track transactions.
