Welcome to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Western-Pacific Region Information Site. The Western-Pacific Region, one of nine FAA geographic regions, includes the States of Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada as well as American Samoa, Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. In addition, the region's Micronesia Program oversees all aviation technical assistance that is provided by the U.S. to the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau.
The region's 5,000 employees provide air traffic control service, maintain the air traffic control system, oversee commercial and general aviation safety, manage the Airport Improvement Program and oversee airport safety and perform other duties required to keep our nation's air transportation system safe and efficient.
Regional Administrator Bill Withycombe is the FAA's senior executive in the region. He provides executive direction and oversees all FAA activities within the region's geographic area of responsibility. He represents FAA Administrator Marion Blakey on a wide range of issues regarding FAA policy and operations.
Twenty senior FAA regional field facility managers are available to represent Mr. Withycombe when local issues require interaction with the FAA. These local coordinators are often the first FAA officials that local and regional government representatives turn to for information on important aviation issues. These senior field managers also work with the media, meet with local citizens and coordinate with local, regional and national elected officials.
Western-Pacific Region employees are committed to accomplishing the FAA mission - keeping our nation's aviation system operating safely and efficiently.
