LANDFIRE Highlights

The LANDFIRE Project completed several major accomplishments this year and is well underway in the production of data layers for the United States, such as the example of the 13 Anderson Fire Behavior Fuel Models.

All of the completed map products can be downloaded off the USGS National Map. The Rapid Assessment portion of the project was completed and map products also available on the USGS National Map. The Rapid Assessment delivered a "first pass," regional-scale assessment of fire regime conditions for the conterminous United States. Prior to the completion of the Rapid Assessment was the LANDFIRE prototype, which was the development and evaluation of methods for National LANDFIRE. The GTR for the Prototype phase was completed in 2006 (GTR-175, Nationally Consistent and Locally Relevant Geospatial Data for Wildland Fire Management).
