A bit past the Noon hour on January 15, 1929, a son was born to the Reverend and Mrs. Martin Luther King, Sr. The surroundings of home, church and neighborhood is where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. experienced the love of family in a Christian environment, and segregation in the days of “Jim Crow” laws, with diligence and tolerance.

Information provided is designed to help you “plan your visit to our Nation's Capitol and to enjoy the many opportunities available in the region to experience the rich history and cultural opportunities we all cherish.” The site will be updated regularly in an effort to make available the most up-to-date information.

National Park Service Reaches Out to All Americans
(Washington, DC) The Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program (RTCA) has announced this year’s 231 new projects, by state. These partnership projects are designed to “help advance youth involvement in outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship, spark more community trails and greenways, support alternative transportation, and transform more brown fields to parks.” Full Story | More News
