NOAA's Assessment and Restoration Division has developed numerous Watershed Database and Mapping Projects. Because each project is unique, with its own characteristics, their components vary. But each builds upon a standard database structure and a data delivery application (Query Manager). Most include GIS data as well.

About the Watershed Database and Mapping Projects NOAA's Assessment and Restoration Division has developed numerous Watershed Database and Mapping Projects that combine a standard database structure, a database application (Query Manager), and GIS data.
About the Watershed Database and Mapping Projects (DRAFT) NOAA's Assessment and Restoration Division has developed numerous Watershed Database and Mapping Projects that combine a standard database structure, a database application (Query Manager), and GIS data.
Sectio of an IMS screen. ARD IMS Sites ARD has developed Internet Map Server (IMS) sites of watershed GIS data layers to assist in accessing and analyzing relevant geographic data. The Web-based mapping is intended to provide easy access to our GIS-based tools and analyses by agency staff, the general public and other stakeholders.
Little Elk Creek Watershed Database and Mapping Project (DRAFT) In addition to the Query Manager data and MARPLOT maps, this project serves information from an IMS site, plus also has a downloadable fact sheet and a web-based guide.
Sectio of an IMS screen. Online Interactive Maps (DRAFT) NOAA has developed online, interactive maps of select watershed data layers to assist in accessing and analyzing relevant geographic data. The Web-based mapping is intended to provide easy access to our analyses by agency staff, the general public and other stakeholders.
icon for vieques OR&R Efforts in Vieques, Puerto Rico Vieques is a small island east of mainland Puerto Rico that was formerly used by the U.S. Navy for military training operations. The Navy ceased operations in 2003, and is now investigating areas it previously occupied to determine the extent of contamination.
Query Manager and MARPLOT An introduction to the Query Manager database and MARPLOT mapping applications, which are used extensively in NOAA's Coastal Protection and Restoration Division Watershed Projects.
Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet Assessment Project Learn about NOAA's special Suisun Bay project investigating potential impacts from the mothball, Reserve Fleet in Suisun Bay, CA.

Software & Data Sets supporting Watershed Database & Mapping Projects Pages on our site that provide access to software created by the Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R) to aid first responders, planners, and restoration practitioners.
icon for anacostia navigation. Anacostia River Watershed Database and Mapping Project Software & Data
The Anacostia River Watershed Database and Mapping Project is comprehensive database with a GIS mapping component. The project focus is on contaminants in the sediments and in the river. This decision-making tool is intended to help partner agencies and local citizen groups identify priorities and base watershed management decisions on the same sets of data.
icon for calcasieu navigation. Calcasieu Estuary Watershed Database and Mapping Project Software & Data
The Calcasieu Estuary Watershed Database and Mapping Project was developed to support NOAA's activities and the Assessment and Restoration Division (ARD) mission. The project focused on analysis of sediment and tissue data. The goal is to identify areas of the estuary that should be addressed to reduce and mitigate risks due to hazardous substance exposures.
Charles River Watershed Database and Mapping Project Software & Data
This describes the purpose and content of the Charles River Watershed Project.
Christina River Watershed Database and Mapping Project Software & Data
The Christina River, a tributary of the Delaware River, historically supported large populations of anadromous sturgeon, Atlantic salmon, shad and herring.
Delaware Estuary Watershed Database and Mapping Project
This Delaware Estuary Watershed Database and Mapping Project is a product of the 2006 Interagency Agreement (IAG) between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Hazardous Site Cleanup Division.
Elizabeth River Watershed Contaminant Conceptual Model Project
This is a data collaboration between federal, state, and local partners and is designed as a decision support tool for clean-up and restoration efforts in the Elizabeth River.
Hudson River Watershed Hudson River Watershed Database and Mapping Project Software & Data
ARD is developing the Hudson River Watershed Database and Mapping Project to provide information and interpretive tools to aid the remedial investigation of the Hudson River Superfund site and restoration planning for the watershed.
Portland Harbor Watershed Database and Mapping Project Software & Data
ARD has developed the Portland Harbor Watershed project, which covers the Portland Harbor site and adjacent areas upstream to Willamette Falls and downstream into the Columbia River. Portland Harbor was named as a Superfund site by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2000. NOAA is involved in the site investigation and cleanup work because the site impacts natural resources that NOAA manages on behalf of the public.
St. Lawrence Watershed Database and Mapping Project Software & Data
The St. Lawrence River Watershed Project is being developed to focus on services lost due to contamination. Data regarding PCB and PAH concentrations are the primary contaminants in the sediment samples that are being reviewed and compiled. The GIS project will support efforts by the agencies and stakeholders to quantify injury and scale restoration projects.
