May 2008

Dear NDEP Partner,

The National Diabetes Education Program’s (NDEP) American Indian/Alaska Native Work Group recently sent a packet to you with the files for three new billboards, inspired by the Small Steps, Big Rewards Prevent Type 2 Diabetes campaign. Using the We Have the Power message, the billboards encourage American Indians/Alaska Natives to prevent type 2 diabetes by losing weight, being more active, and cutting calories.

The billboards were designed for you to customize with your organization’s logo, local phone number, or community image. These billboards also may be adapted and reproduced as bumper stickers, bookmarks, or any other form of promotional material to promote diabetes prevention in your community.

In response to requests for more detailed information on how to customize these billboards, we are sending you a revised Billboard Usage Guidelines document. The final page contains specific instructions on how to manipulate these files using Adobe Illustrator. We hope that you find this additional information helpful.

Sincerely,

Kelly R. Moore, M.D.'s Signature
