Chu is Nobel Prize winner, Berkeley lab director
Steven Chu, nominated by President-elect Barack Obama to be the new Department of Energy secretary, appeared before a Senate committee Tuesday morning in Washington, D.C. The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee conducted the confirmation hearing on Chu, currently the director of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
