Library of Congress
Main Reading Room

The Library of Congress Coca-Cola Fellowship for the Study of Advertising and World Cultures will be awarded annually for a period of four years, beginning in 2003. Administered by the Library of Congress' Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division (M/B/RS) in collaboration with the Library of Congress Office of Scholarly Programs, awards will be made to researchers studying the interrelationships among advertising, culture, commerce and the media, beginning in the 20th century. The fellowship will provide recipients with access to resources for an extended period of in-depth research into the Library's broadcast advertising and other audio-visual collections.

Investigations of related collections in other divisions of the Library are encouraged; further information about the Library's holdings can be found on the Library's website: www.loc.gov. A supporting stipend of $20,000 will be provided for the duration of the fellowship, which must include three months residency in the Washington, DC, area to conduct research in the Library's collections. Scholars of all nationalities are invited to apply.
