House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee holds hearing on NIH Priority Setting Process

On June 2, 2004, the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee (Representative Michael Bilirakis [R-FL], Chairman) held a hearing entitled, “Scientific Opportunities and Public Needs: Balancing NIH’s Priority Setting Process.” Dr. Elias Zerhouni, Director of NIH, testified. Drs. Anthony Fauci, Director of NIAID; Andrew von Eschenbach, Director of NCI; and Nora Volkow, Director of NIDA, accompanied Dr. Zerhouni and provided oral remarks.
