WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Marion Berry (D-AR, 1st) will host a town hall meeting to discuss Social Security, the Budget and Medicare on Thursday, March 31st at 10:15AM at the Crittenden Memorial Hospital’s Schoettle Center in West Memphis.
The town hall will give residents an opportunity to ask questions about potential changes to Social Security, the impact of the budget deficit and upcoming changes to their Medicare:
· The federal deficit is nearly $600 billion and is a significant factor in keeping Social Security solvent
· There are more than half a million Social Security beneficiaries in Arkansas and millions more who will be eligible for benefits in the coming years
· The Medicare prescription drug program will go into effect next year
This event is open to the public.
