This publication presents the proceedings of a technical conference jointly hosted by NOAA and NASA with sponsorship by the Commission of the European Communities, the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea, International Council of Scientific Unions, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, and the World Meteorological Organization. The purpose of the workshop was to promote discussions between scientists and data managers that would lead to improved data delivery systems needed to support research in the role of the oceans in climate change. Workshop presentations presented in these proceedings are organized into four major sections:
