The Floodplain Management Association is a regional organization of professionals in California, Nevada and Hawaii involved in the multiple aspects of floodplain management, from loss reduction to resource protection, and the promotion of multi-objective floodplain management strategies. FMA promotes the development of principles and tools for carrying out effective state and local floodplain management programs and participates in an advisory role in a number of statewide planning efforts including: California Water Plan, California Alluvial Fan Task Force, Southern California Wetlands Recovery Project and the California Watershed Program.

FloodSAFE Program Stakeholder Briefings! California DWR will be holding a series of stakeholder briefings beginning June 2008. Please visit www.water.ca.gov/floodsafe.
Proposition 84 Update. The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has released the Project Solicitation Package (PSP) and Guidelines for the Local Levee Assistance Program (LLAP) (formerly entitled, "Local Levee Grant Program") for the fiscal year 2007-08 competitive funding cycle. Applications are available on the FloodSAFE website at http://www.water.ca.gov/floodsafe.
Urban Streams Restoration Program! The California Resources Agency and the California Department of Water Resources are pleased to announce the joint release of the guidelines and application for the California River Parkways ($30.9 million) and the Urban Streams Restoration ($9.1 million) grant programs.
