NIDA Grant Announcement
Economics of Drug Treatment Services (PA 96-075)
NIDA has issued a program announcement seeking proposals to conduct research
on the economics of drug treatment services.
Applications are sought for research that would apply methods of economic
analysis to the most pressing problems facing the financing and delivery
of drug abuse treatment services. Research studies may include financing
of drug abuse treatment services, including health insurance and payment
mechanisms; alternative delivery systems and managed care; cost-benefit,
cost-effectiveness, and cost-utility analysis; cost of drug abuse treatment;
and methodological research.

Research grant applications are due on February 1, June 1, and October
1 each year. Deadlines for AIDS-related grant applications are January 2,
May 1, and September 1 each year.
