Mobile Disaster Recovery Center Supporting Santa Barbara LAC

PASADENA, Calif. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has positioned a Mobile Disaster Recovery Center (MDRC) at the Local Assistance Center (LAC) in Santa Barbara. Earlier this week, FEMA deployed MDRCs to LACs in Anaheim Hills and Sylmar.
Santa Barbara residents who suffered damages to their residences from the recent wildfires can go to the LAC to have their recovery questions answered by FEMA, state and local agency representatives and consultants from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
An MDRC is a recreational vehicle with office resources, computers and satellite uplink capabilities that can provide communications support for FEMA and SBA staff working at the LACs.
The FEMA toll-free registration number for federal and state disaster assistance is 1-800-621-3362 (FEMA), (TTY 1-800-462-7585). Applicants also may register online at www.fema.gov. Applicants dont have to visit a LAC to register.
