Description: NIH Steering Committee Ad Hoc Working Group on Peer Review

The group is examining the NIH peer review process, with the goal of maximizing its effectiveness. The purpose of the July meeting is to get input from you, the NIH community, and explore possible enhancements to all aspects of our system of supporting biomedical and behavioral science, including the two-tiered review process. We are asking for your opinion on how NIH can best meet the challenges of supporting science in the 21st century, and we are especially interested in creative, concrete suggestions for strengthening over the long term any and all aspects of our system for identifying the most meritorious and innovative research for support.

The meeting will employ “break-out” groups that will report out to the group as a whole at the end of the program.
