FOREST CONDITIONS

A valid California Campfire Permit is required for open campfires and camp stoves outside of designated recreation sites. The permits are free and available at USDA Forest Service or USDI Bureau of Land Management (BLM) or CALFIRE offices in California. Visitors of the Klamath National Forest (KNF) need to check with local KNF Forest offices to determine if any special fire restrictions have been implemented because of high fire danger.

Please use good fire sense and never leave campfires unattended. Also remember that adjoining public land areas can have different weather conditions and fire restrictions may or may not be in affect. Check with other Forests, or BLM, or CALFIRE directly.
