For
both men and women, younger adults were more likely to drink excessively
than older adults. For men, the percent of adults with excessive alcohol
consumption was 26.0% for age group 18-24 years, 20.0% for age group 25-44
years, and 10.1% for age group 45-64 years. For women, these percents were
10.7%, 5.1%, and 2.6%, respectively.
Men
were more likely than women to drink excessively in all three age groups.
