In
2001, 6.5% (95% CI = 6.0%-7.0%) of U.S. adults aged 65 years and over
needed the help of other persons with personal care needs.
There
was no significant trend in the percents of adults who needed the help of
other persons with personal care needs (6.6% in 1997, 6.3% in 1998, 6.4%
in 1999, 6.3% in 2000, and 6.5% in 2001).
