NOTES: Respondents
were asked if they had received an influenza vaccination during the past
12 months. Responses to this question cannot be used to determine when
during the preceding 12 months the subject received the influenza
vaccination. In addition, estimates are subject to recall error, which
will vary depending on when the question is asked because the receipt of
influenza vaccinations is seasonal. The analysis excluded 17 adults aged
65 years and over with unknown influenza vaccination status.
DATA SOURCE: Based on
data collected from January through March in the Sample Adult Core
component of the 2002 National Health Interview Survey.

For
adults aged 65 years and over, the percent of persons receiving influenza
vaccine during the past 12 months was 47.2% for Hispanic persons, 69.5%
for white non-Hispanic persons, and 50.0% for black non-Hispanic persons.

Hispanic
persons and black non-Hispanic persons were less likely than white
non-Hispanic persons to have received influenza vaccine during the past 12
months. |
