Louisiana Units Prepare for Hurricane
Louisiana Army National Guard Pfc. Christopher M. Cagle of West Monroe, La., packs his military duffle bag for deployment to South Louisiana, Aug. 28, 2008, in support of possible landfall of Hurricane Gustav. He serves with Headquarters Support Company, 528th Engineer Battalion. The Coast Guard has committed boats to the hurricane effort in the event that Gustav makes landfall, Aug. 28, 2008. The Louisiana National Guard and Coast Guard will work together on rescue missions in flooded areas.

Military vehicles are staged and ready to bring clean water in the event that water becomes scarce. The soldiers of 3rd Battalion, 156th Infantry Regiment are preparing to conduct operations in the event that tropical storm Gustav makes landfall on the Louisiana coast.
