Project Spotlight: Creative Conflict Resolution

The majority of cases that Creative Conflict Resolution (CCR) works on cannot be discussed in detail, due to the confidential nature of the work. Three projects which can be described more fully are presented below:

  • At the request of the Washington Office Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program, CCR conducted a complete revision of the comprehensive Forest Service Dispute Resolution Guide, including rewriting all sections relating to alternative dispute resolution and coordinating subject matter specialist input from Washington Office Civil Rights, Washington Office Human Capital Management, and the National Federation of Federal Employees. The Guide is currently awaiting finalization at the Washington Office.

  • CCR worked closely with TEAMS Enterprise Unit throughout the year as they progressed toward a new business organization. A completed sensing and analysis effort began in late FY 2006, culminated in a detailed report and PowerPoint presentation shared with all employees. CCR assisted the TEAMS leadership team in creating an action plan to address issues raised through the sensing effort. Assistance was also provided for the leadership team in refining the unit’s vision and leadership team purpose, in clarifying roles, and in fine-tuning the working relationships among leadership team members.

    CCR then facilitated the TEAMS Evolution process, as the leadership team responded to Steering Committee direction to evaluate and revise its organizational structure.

  • CCR worked closely with ACT2 Enterprise Team members as they pro-actively faced head-on the challenge of transitioning to new leadership. With the help of CCR, a smooth transition was ensured by the development of a 3-phase transition plan, clarifying team members’ roles during each phase of the transition, and fine-tuning and improving working relationships along the way.
