Vegetation Management Solutions is a US Forest Service enterprise team. We operate as a stand-alone business, fully accountable for covering all costs and with no set budget. We obtain our work by agreements and can work for any government agency, although most of our work to-date has been with the Forest Service. Because we rely upon work agreements, we work hard to please our customers! Our team is comprised of scientists and resource managers with varied backgrounds including: Hydrology, Forestry, Silviculture, Ecology, Botany, Soils, GIS and Information Technology.

Our Mission:

We offer services in natural resources management and advanced data technology. We provide a more efficient way to manage and analyze data. Our services help resource specialists have greater access to existing data and display that data in a format that facilitates better resource decisions. This enterprise unit accelerates the application of new technologies for resource management to enable resource managers to stay focused on the resource.

Geographical Information System (GIS) analysis - data construction, modeling, analysis, and mapping using ArcGIS.

Vegetation mapping.

Database application development for client/server, WEB, and portable devices using Oracle, ArcGIS, and Microsoft products.

Database application support and training.

Data migration into existing applications such as FACTS, and upgrade applications into a web environment.

Global Positioning System (GPS) support - gathering and processing resource location data via GPS.

Professional forestry, hydrological, silvicultural, and botanical services - biological surveys, environmental monitoring and conservation assessments.

Plant identification/surveys - specializing in non-vascular plants including bryophytes and lichens.

Integrated Acquisition System (IAS) support.

National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis.

Project coordination and monitoring.

Vegetation modeling of past or future conditions.
