John Twachtman: Connecticut Landscapes

Overview: 26 paintings, dating from 1889 to 1901, were shown of the artist's farm and its immediate vicinity in Greenwich, Connecticut. This exhibition was the last in a series of 3 exhibitions of American impressionists at the National Gallery. Deborah Chotner, assistant curator of American art, was the exhibition curator. Gaillard Ravenel and Mark Leithauser designed the exhibition, and Gordon Anson designed the lighting. Bell Atlantic supported the exhibition.
