FERC, in cooperation with a team of dam owners and independent
consultants, has developed a revised and enhanced FERC Part 12D
dam safety inspection procedure. The DSPMP, Chapter 14 of the
FERC Engineering Guidelines, also includes guidance for Potential
Failure Mode Analyses (PFMA), which is to be carried out as part
of the Part 12D Independent Consultant's Inspection Report. Access
complete description of the new DSPMP and an online copy Chapter
14.
The training workshops have two parallel objectives:
- To familiarize dam owners and independent consultants the
new DSPMP process which utilizes the PFMA so that they are
equipped to accomplish them on their dams; and
- To provide training for potential facilitators of the PFMA
The training workshop covers the new FERC requirements related
to the DSPMP, including a revised outline for the Part 12D report.
We believe that it would be very helpful for you and your prospective
Part 12 D independent consultants to attend this course. The workshop
is open to all, however, owners and consultants who are scheduled
to perform Part 12D inspections and prepare Part 12D reports using
the new DSPMP this year will be given priority for attending this
training. Space is limited, is on a first come/first serve basis
and the workshop fills up quickly. Plan early to reserve space
in the workshop.
