We’ll provide files that are suitable for posting to the inter- or intranet. We’ll recommend various printing procurement options, obtain cost estimates, prepare print orders, check blue-line proofs, and administer the printing contract. Printing may require as long as 6 weeks, so we’ll make early plans with you to meet deadlines. Whether you’re generating a CD, DVD, presentation, or other electronic product, we’ll provide the replication and packaging services most appropriate for your specific needs. We’ll recommend various media options, provide you with cost-effective estimates, and produce files that meet the specific media requirements. When your content is created, edited, designed, and ready to distribute, we’ll coordinate final product replication, printing, or posting in the most effective way to meet your deadline and budget. We’ll lay out or format any kind of communications media that you require, including graphically intensive documents, brochures, posters, slide shows, or master CDs. We’ll also design graphics such as charts, figures, and diagrams. We’ll manipulate existing files or create new files to meet specialized requirements for offset printing, color generation, and other non-standard media. We’ll style your text, create or adapt your graphics, and scan or download your photos. Then we’ll pull it all together, using one of our software packages to lay out each and every page. Whether your output is a printed document, a Web page, a CD, a presentation, or other media, we’ll provide the layout that’s right for the message and the audience. We’ll apply style functions to support existing document appearance; auto-generate table of contents, index, and bookmarks; ensure accuracy of pagination; and check graphics for printability. Visual imagery is an effective way to communicate concrete and abstract ideas. We’ll transform your words and thoughts into charts, figures, and diagrams. We use your ideas or reference materials to manipulate original artwork or to create charts, figures, diagrams, or graphs. Computer software can index words but not concepts. We’ll provide general guidance for you to plan and create the list of words or phrases important to your readers, instruct you on how to prepare an electronic index file and generate and format the index, and we’ll spot check the results. We’ll compare “live” copy to “dead” copy word-for-word, or read a single copy word-for-word for typographical errors and format inconsistencies. You’re the subject matter expert but we’re the communication experts. We’ll help you craft accurate, informative content by researching and/or writing text on a specific subject for an identified audience and publishing medium. We’ll compile, sort, and organize source materials, while expanding or condensing the information to meet your needs. We conduct searches for and reviews of references, interview or correspond with subject-matter experts, and provide lists of relevant citations found. We’ll make sure your product is clear and consistent. You provide the draft; we provide the polished product. We’ll complete a substantive and/or a copy edit on your draft, and/or a proofread on your final, by using the Microsoft track changes feature or by marking changes on paper. When everything is ready, we’ll show you how to build an effective index, if necessary. We’ll evaluate and clarify tone and organization, eliminate redundancy, and “wordsmith” awkward passages. As needed, we’ll rewrite, reorganize into a logical structure, and review content for consistency and logic, while ensuring the proper tone and style for the intended audience. Our substantive edit also includes a complete copy edit. We’ll identify and correct errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation and check for consistency with your selected style. We’ll also ensure that type and graphics are legible, headers and footers are accurate and consistent, and references and cross-references match. We’ll edit tables and figures as needed and make sure that they are properly referenced in the text. We’ll write draft and final text on a specific subject for an identified audience. We’ll organize and use available materials and key direction to produce a draft document for your review. Then we’ll revise the content to produce a final draft that addresses your comments and concerns. We’ll help you design and work with group processes to ensure that your meetings run well and accomplish your goals. We provide meeting logistics and create a shared, visual record of the meeting, and produce post-meeting reports, as needed.
