Number (in Thousands) of Hospital Discharges with Diabetic Ketoacidosis as First-Listed Diagnosis, United States, 1980-2003

The number of hospital discharges with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) as the first-listed diagnosis increased between 1980 and 2003, with about 62,000 discharges in 1980 with DKA as the first-listed diagnosis and about 115,000 in 2003.
