JAVA Graphics of TAO Meteorological Data

To use this Java demonstration, you must have a Java-enabled browser. The information on this page is provided for users who may not have access to a Java-enabled browser.

[JAVA INTERFACE IMAGE]

In this Java graphics applet, graphics of realtime TAO meteorological data are done entirely in Java. When a user access this application on the Web, the Java applet (graphics software) and the relevant TAO data are downloaded to the users local workstation. Response time is very fast and the graphics are very interactive because the software is running locally for the user. The user can choose a buoy or a variable with a mouse click, zoom on the plot by dragging a box around a portion of the graph, or see the data values in a small pop up window.

The fast response and interactivity with the data shown in these applications is possible on the Web only by using Java. In addition, Java software can be installed on Unix, PC and Mac workstations, and run independently of the Web.
