Programmatic Environmental Assessment for Alternative Housing Pilot Program (AHPP) Activities in Texas
The need for this action is to address the housing shortages caused by the catastrophic effects of Hurricane Rita, and to move disaster victims from current temporary solutions (e.g., rental dwellings, travel trailers, etc.) to permanent housing. As of October 2008, there are 6,248 families who are receiving disaster housing aid from within the ten-county program area due to Hurricane Rita.
