Spanish Fort Bluff Stabilization Project, City Of Spanish Fort, Alabama (August 2006)
The City of Spanish Fort applied for FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funds to reduce the erosion of a bluff from water runoff and mass movements, which threatens several residential structures. Bluff stabilization is needed to reduce future property damages and nearby road closures associated with erosion, slumping, and landslides. To comply with the National Environmental Policy Act and its implementing regulations, an Environmental Assessment and FONSI were prepared to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of the proposed project.
