Draft Environmental Assessment for Gruene Road Wastewater Treatment Plant Flood Protection Project
On July 4, 2002, a major disaster was declared due to flooding in central Texas that ultimately included 39 counties FEMA-1425-DR-TX). As a result of damage sustained during the flooding, New Braunfels Utilities has applied for funding under the Public Assistance Program administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). FEMA has prepared this environmental assessment to meet the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the Council on Environmental Quality’s implementing regulations at 40 CFR Parts 1500-1508. The purpose of this environmental assessment is to analyze and assess the potential environmental impacts associated with the proposed action.
