When Franklin Pierce entered office, he and his wife were given money to perform White House restorations. Using some of these funds, they purchased a china set from Limoges, a French city well-known for its fine porcelain. Their plates are decorated with a central crest and bordered by gold pointelle. Measures 7 3/4".
