A gift from the East India Trading Company to the Washington's, the original plates featured china made in Canton. Each piece features Mrs. Washington's initials at the center and the names of the 15 states in the union at the time. The border is engraved with the Latin motto 'a glory and the defense of it'. Measures 7 3/4".
