Proposal to Establish Ribbon Ridge Viticultural Area

Washington, D.C. - The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) issued a notice of proposed rulemaking in the Federal Register, on November 3, 2003, proposing the establishment of the "Ribbon Ridge" viticultural area in northern Yamhill County, Oregon, within the existing Willamette Valley viticultural area. As of 2002, at least 14 vineyards, totaling over 286 acres currently planted, plus 3 commercial wineries exist within the proposed boundaries of the Ribbon Ridge viticultural area.
