When you sign up, you join a growing network of communities and partners that can help support your activities. And remember, you don't have to have all of your plans in place to sign up.
Some of the great benefits of signing up include:
Signing Up is Easy. To join the We Can! movement and become an official We Can! community site or city, select your level of commitment and sign up. You can sign up online or fax a sign up form to the NHLBI Information Center at (240) 629-3246.
You can choose from three levels of commitment: General Community Site, Intensive Community Site, or We Can! City/County. Each level has different requirements.
1. We Can! General Community Site
Implement ANY TWO of the following three activities in one year:
- Implement one We Can! youth program/curriculum
- Implement one We Can! parent program/curriculum
- Host one We Can! community outreach event
- Use the online We Can! Activity Forms to report on each curriculum implementation and each community event
2. We Can! Intensive Community Site
Complete ALL of the following activities in one year:
- Implement three or more We Can! youth programs/curricula
- Implement three or more We Can! parent programs/curricula
- Host three or more We Can! community outreach events
- Work with local partners to implement We Can! programs
- Pursue local We Can! media coverage
- Use the online We Can! Activity Forms to report on each curriculum implementation and each community event
- Submit an abstract of your year's We Can! activities for posting on the We Can! Web site
3. We Can! City/County
Complete ALL of the following activities in one year:
- Send a letter of commitment from the city mayor or county executive to We Can! program staff and publicly announce involvement through a mayoral or county executive proclamation to the city or county
- Provide We Can! information or activities to city or county employees
- Implement four or more We Can! youth programs/curricula
- Implement four or more We Can! parent programs/curricula
- Host four or more We Can! community outreach events
- Work with local partners to implement We Can! programs
- Pursue local We Can! media coverage
- Use the online We Can! Activity Forms to report on each curriculum implementation and each community event
- Submit an abstract of your year's We Can! activities for posting on the We Can! Web site
