Summary of Public Comments

The Open Space Conservation Strategy is the product of extensive public input, with over 22,000 comments received. The Forest Service first asked for ideas about how the Forest Service could be a partner in conservation late last year with a public comment period and three round table listening sessions. Those ideas were used to develop a Draft Strategy that was sent out for public review this summer. After addressing the public’s comments on the Draft Strategy, the Forest Service published the final version of the Strategy in December 2007.
