Publications

The following documents are published by the Eldorado National Forest. While many of these documents are also found on other pages on our web site, they have been linked here for ease of use.

SCHEDULE OF PROPOSED ACTIONS

Four times a year (quarterly), the Eldorado National Forest publishes a Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPAs). Expect updates in January, April, July, and October. The Schedule includes projects being considered on the Eldorado National Forest and is designed to provide you with information and invite your input on ongoing Forest environmental analyses. Projects are separated by Forest unit (Supervisor's Office, Amador, Georgetown, Pacific and Placerville Ranger Districts) and include a description of the project, the location, pertinent dates, analysis status and a contact person.

ELDORADO BUSINESS PLAN

Since it was first established by an act of Congress in 1910, the Eldorado National Forest has been inextricably linked with the lives of many people – from those who live and work on the Forest, to those who come to the Forest for recreational purposes. This business plan tells the story of the Eldorado National Forest by describing its connection with these stakeholders. It also describes the range of operational activities performed within the Forest, the resources currently used, and the resources required to perform activities to an optimal standard. This business plan provides a number of carefully considered strategies and investment priorities aimed at closing current funding gaps.

On October 2, 1996, President Clinton signed into law the Electronic Freedom of Information Act Amendments of 1996 (EFOIA). EFOIA will make it possible for individuals to have electronic access to certain USDA information without making a formal FOIA request.

PDF FILES

In order to serve you better, the Eldorado National Forest web site uses PDF technology. The PDF file format allows us to save offical documents, announcements, maps and brochures into one common format that is downloadable by anyone. This format can be viewed within your browser, or for best results, printed out on your home printer. Any printout that you make using our PDF files will look exactly like our originals! It's like we mailed you the documents directly, except that you didn't have to wait for our delays and the mail! You can save the PDF file to your computer for later viewing, and you can print as many copies as you want.

PDF does have one requirement: viewer/plug-in software. This software allows your browser to be able to "understand" PDF; without it your browser wouldn't know PDF from Smokey Bear!

That brings us to another reason for using PDF: the viewer/plug-in software is FREE, and may even be on your computer already! To download the software now, one free source is the Adobe Acrobat Reader site.
