Telemedicine -- refers broadly to the use of electronic communication and
information technologies to provide or support a diverse group of
health-related activities that may include health professionals'
education, community health education, public health research, and the
administration of health services.

Telemedicine / Telehealth Network -- a set of functional relationships among
facilities. A network usually
contains a hub and at least one spoke, but may contain multiple hubs or
spokes. A network can contain several different projects with distinctly
separate funding sources. As
a sum of all these parts, the network provides and obtains telemedicine
services such as consults.
