    This is a senior-level position

    The Office of the General Counsel, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is seeking an experienced attorney to work on cutting-edge legal and policy issues affecting the electric and natural gas industries, including regulatory policy and financial market issues affecting investment in the industries, and trading in energy commodity futures and derivatives affecting wholesale prices of electric energy and natural gas.     This is a mid-level and senior-level position

    The Office of the General Counsel, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, is seeking mid-level and senior-level attorneys with electric energy experience for its Energy Markets section (EM). Successful candidates will be able to advise the Commission on complex issues associated with competitive wholesale electric energy markets, transmission of electric energy in interstate commerce, transportation of natural gas and oil in interstate commerce, and electric system reliability. Candidates must be able to work with minimal guidance in drafting rules, orders and legal memoranda on new and challenging issues. Ability to work in inter-disciplinary teams is essential. Attorneys in EM make up a diverse group and share a deep commitment to public service.

    Applicants must be members in good standing of a recognized bar; have two or more years of legal experience in electric energy; have strong analytical, research and presentation skills, and excellent writing and editing abilities. Salary ranges from $82,961 to $149,000, commensurate with experience.
