NOAA's National Ocean Service (NOS) develops and maintains specialty Web sites for NOS-wide and NOAA-wide projects and programs. Occasionally, NOS develops Web sites for organizations outside of NOAA. Links to and annotations for specialty sites currently maintained by NOS are listed below. CEQ Committee on Ocean Policy Web site
Committee on Ocean Policy
This Web site provides information on the activities of the Council on Environmental Quality Committee on Ocean Policy. The Committee advises the President and, as appropriate, agency heads, on the establishment or implementation of policies concerning certain ocean-related matters.



Coral Reef information systems web site
NOAA's Coral Reef Information System (CoRIS)
This Web site is designed to be a single point of access to NOAA coral reef information and data products, especially those derived from NOAA's Coral Reef Conservation Program.

Coastal Indicators Information Exchange
This Web site is designed to foster information exchange among those developing and using coastal indicators in order to improve understanding of coastal indicators and their uses, promote data and information sharing, and encourage communication between and among indicator developers and users. The site offers a number of tools to guide practitioners in choosing and using coastal indicators and provides direct links to numerous parties that are implementing successful indicator systems.

This Web site provides information about National Estuaries Day, which is an annual collaborative effort between NOAA's National Estuarine Research Reserve System and other federal and state agencies.

Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program
This Web site explains all aspects of NOAA's Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program, which recognizes outstanding scholarship and encourages independent graduate level research – particularly by female and minority students – in oceanography, marine biology, and maritime archaeology.



Marine Economics web site

Marine Economics
This Web site provides information about NOAA's Coastal and Ocean Resource Economics (CORE) Program, which conducts marine-related socioeconomic research. The Web site provides background information on CORE and data from economic research, including research conducted within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.




Marine Protected areas web site

Marine Protected Areas
This Web site provides information about the multi-agency initiative involving the nation's marine protected areas (MPAs). The Web site includes a detailed inventory of marine managed area sites throughout U.S. waters, case studies, and information about the MPA Center and its advisory committee.

This Web site
provides information about the National Space-Based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Executive Committee and its activities as well as background materials related to PNT.

NOAA 200th Anniversary Celebration Web Site
This Web site provides a centralized location for NOAA to communicate to about agency activities in commemoration of the establishment of NOAA's first components in 1807. The site is organized around the past, present, and future time periods, with content that highlights the science, service, and stewardship activities of all facets of NOAA.




NOAA Coastal Brownfields Web site

NOAA Coastal Brownfields
This Web site explains NOAA's involvement in coastal brownfields, including those in port and harbor areas called portfields. Brownfields are properties where expansion, redevelopment, or reuse may be complicated by the presence of contamination.




NOAA coral reef conservation Web site

NOAA's Coral Reef Conservation Program
This Web site contains the latest news on all of NOAA's coral reef activities. It also includes coral reef funding opportunities throughout NOAA and resources for students and educators interested in learning about coral reefs.

NOAA Marine Debris Program
This Web site provides information about the NOAA Marine Debris Program, the types of marine debris and its sources, marine debris projects throughout the United States, and funding opportunities.  Visitors will also find outreach and education materials, a photo gallery, and a glossary of frequently used terms.

This Web site chronicles NOAA's scientific and educational exploration activities in the marine environment. The site includes extensive background information on each featured expedition and regular logs, historical information, technological information, an extensive image and video gallery, and more.

provides centralized access to information about NOAA restoration programs, projects, and activities through a single point-of-entry. It is a gateway to more detailed NOAA restoration publications, Web sites, audiovisual materials, and case studies, and is organized into four themes.
