Find a Forest (NF)
|
About UsOur mission is to lead in the conservation and wise use of the nation’s forests and grasslands. To carry out this mission, the US Forest Service is organized into three areas: the National Forest System, Research, and State and Private Forestry. As part of the National Forest System, the Rocky Mountain Region enjoys a proud heritage in the Forest Service. Wyoming's Shoshone National Forest and Colorado's White River National Forest are among the first National Forests Congress proclaimed, carved from the original Forest Reserves. These and other Forests and Grasslands continue to hold in trust America's resources- timber, wildlife, water, range, recreation - to ensure their availability today and tomorrow.
