Video Help
Videos on this website are offered in two formats: Quicktime and Windows Media. See below for help on which video to view, getting a player, and information on closed captioning.
Windows Media is a media format developed by Microsoft for streaming and playing media files.
QuickTime is a multimedia architecture developed by Apple Computer for Mac OS, Mac OS X, Windows, and other platforms.
The video files available to view are in the public domain and can be downloaded IF you have the proper software. The videos are not for sale or distribution.
Choosing which Video to View
To choose which video file to use, you need to consider the type of computer and the type of connection to the internet that you have.
- MacIntosh: Most MacIntosh users have Quicktime preinstalled and are able to play Quicktime files without installing anything. The media files can be identified by the extension .mov.
- Microsoft Windows: If you have a Windows operating system you most likely have Windows Media Player installed. The media files can be identified by the extension .wmv.
- Choose "High" speed connection if you are using DSL or Cable and want the best and largest video to view.
- Choose "Low" speed connection if you want a quicker download or are a Dial-up user.
NOTE: video files are large and may take a long time to download on dial-up.
