The National Science Foundation (NSF) offers many electronic resources to track the latest developments in science and engineering research and education, as well as statistical information about the nation's science and engineering enterprise.

Science Statistics: www.nsf.gov/statistics As part of its mission, NSF compiles and maintains the nation's definitive statistics on science and engineering. Reports cover topics including education and workforce demographics; research and development funding, performance, and infrastructure, and the impact of information technology.
Award Searches: www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/ Search NSF awards from 1970 through present, list recent awards, list awards by institution or by state, or list awards by program. Full-text search is also possible.
Award Summaries and Analyses: dellweb.bfa.nsf.gov Summarizes NSF awards by state or institution (since 1996), a list of the top 50 institutions receiving NSF funding, and descriptions of NSF's funding history. TIP: When using this site, select "View Report" after specifying your search criteria. Select "first page" or "home page" to backtrack.
Programs and Funding Opportunities NSF is the independent federal agency that supports basic research in all fields of science and engineering. There are many programs that provide investigators with opportunities to seek funding.
