RONALD H. BROWN
RONALD H. BROWN, a state-of-the-art oceanographic and atmospheric research platform, is the largest vessel in the NOAA fleet. With its highly advanced instruments and sensors, RONALD H. BROWN travels worldwide supporting scientific studies to increase our understanding of the world's oceans and climate.
One of the ship's first major projects was a year-long "Around the World" cruise. Starting in October 1998 from Seattle, WA, our port calls included: Rodman, Panama; Charleston, SC; Norfolk, VA; Cape Town, South Africa; Port Louis, Mauritius; Male in the Maldives Islands; Singapore; Darwin, Australia; the small island nation of Nauru; Kwajalein, Marshall Islands; Honolulu, HI; Dutch Harbor, AK, and finally, back to Seattle in October 1999.
