Recreation Site – Facility Master Planning
- The Colville National Forest is proposing future management
of developed recreation sites through a process called “Recreation
Site Facility Master Planning (RS-FMP).”
Sullivan Creek Hydroelectric Project Surrender of License
- The Public Utility District No. 1 of Pend Oreille County is in the process
of surrendering their Federal Energy Regulatory Commission license for this
non-power generating project located at Sullivan Lake and along Sullivan
Creek.
Boundary Dam Hydroelectric Project Relicensing
- Seattle City Light is working throught the process to obtain a new Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission license for its hydropower dam located on National
Forest land along the Pend Oreille River just south of the United States
- Canadian. border.
Kettle Falls
- The Western Federal Lands Highway Division (WFLHD) of the Federal Highway
Administration (FHWA), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture,
Forest Service (USFS), Colville National Forest (CNF), and the City of Kettle
Falls (City), Washington (WA), proposes to construct a regional information
center adjacent to U.S. Highway (Hwy.) 395/ State Hwy. 20 and within the city
limits of Kettle Falls (see Vicinity Map).
Republic Ranger Station Administrative Site
- The Colville National Forest is beginning a project that would dispose of
a residence adjacent to the Republic Ranger Station administration site. The
0.40 acre parcel including buildings is located in Republic, Washington. The
parcel and buildings are no longer needed to meet public service or Forest
Service mission requirements.
CERCLA/Hazmat Cleanup Projects
- The
Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compliance
and Liability Act (CERCLA) process assesses site conditions, evaluates
hazards to humans and the natural environment, determines the level of
cleanup required and selects an appropriate cleanup alternative.
Colville and Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Plans Revision
- The Colville and the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forests are revising their Forest Plans. These plans are near the end of their intended 10-15-year life cycle. (The Colville Forest Plan was completed in 1988, the Okanogan in 1989, and the Wenatchee in 1990.). The plans will be revised to reflect resource and social changes on all three Forests, as well as new scientific information.
Land and Resource Mangement Plan (1988)
- This National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan (Forest Plan or Plan)
was developed to direct management of the Colville National Forest. The goal
of the Plan is to provide a management program reflective of a mixture of management
activities that allow use and protection of the Forest resources; fulfill legislative
requirements; and address local, regional, and national issues and concerns.
Ecosystem Management
- The Colville has proposed timber sales, timber sale auction results, and other related timber reports available.
Environmental Analysis
- The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) helps us fulfill our mission by ensuring that environmental information is available to citizens and public officials before decisions are made and before actions are taken.
Environmental Management System (EMS)
- The purpose of the Colville National Forest's Environmental Management System (EMS) is to establish, document, implement, maintain and continually improve the environmental performance associated with the activities, products and services of the Forest.
RAC
- The Resource Advisory Committee is involved in project approval and funding in Stevens and Pend Oreille County on the Colville.
Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPA)
- Four times a year, the Colville publishes Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPA) which provides project information, status, and contacts.
