*Equestrian camping is permitted at Camp Cadiz & Johnson Creek Group Camping

All campsites and picnic areas on the Shawnee National Forest are first-come, first-serve -- no reservations accepted.

Primitive camping is allowed on National Forest land 1/4-mile away from developed campground and developed picnic areas. Camping is NOT allowed within Designated Natural Areas, Research Natural Areas nor within 150 feet of a municipal water source. We ask that you camp away from the trail. A permit is not required nor is there a fee, however, a 14-day limitation is in effect.
