Abstract A cooperative progam is described in which the managers and employees from Colorado airports can learn the latest fire figting techniques and test their skills on a mock C-130 during a refresher course at the U.S. Air Force Base at Peterson Field in Colorado Springs. Although aircraft rescue and fire fighting techniques were developed many years ago, this is the first involving military permission allowing a state aeronautics agency to train civilian airport employees on a military burn facility. Details of the facility and its operation are described. Registrants for the course must have a basic fire fighting ability, have experienced at least one prior practice burn or actual fire, and pay $125 for the day-long course.
